Tribe take 3 of 4 from error happy Nats

GAME 1 - Griffith Stad
Kennedy vs Haefner
Indians 8, Senators 3

A balanced Tribe attack supported Vern Kennedy, who scattered 3 runs in a complete game effort for his first win of the season.  3 runs in the top of the 9th stopped this from being a close contest.

GAME 2
Dean vs Mertz
Indians 8, Senators 7 (11 inn)

The Nats rallied back for 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th to force extra innings.  A rare 2 run single by light hitting utility man Jake Powell was just what the doctor ordered.  Neither team scored in the 10th.  The Tribe took the lead on a Rosar single in the top of the 12th to plate Kenny Keltner, who led off the inning with a double off the right center field wall.  Washington went down weakly in the bottom of the inning.

GAME 3
Bagby vs E.Wynn
Indians 8, Senators 7 (12 inn)

Second extra inning contest in as many days.  This time the Tribe rallied from 3 down to tie the game in the top of the 9th.  Game remained deadlocked unitl a string of Senator errors combined with a Rosar sac fly gave the visiting squad a 1 run advantage.  Reliever Pete Center tossed 4 scoreless innings to get the win.

GAME 4
A.Smith vs Candini
Senators 5, Indians 2

Milo Candini went 7 strong innings to get his second win of the season and lower his league leading ERA to 0.56 despite 3 more errors from his defense.  Washington broke a 1-1 tie with 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th and never looked back.  Stan Spence (2-4, 1 RBI) lead a balanced attack and saw his season average rise to .364.  Jeff Heath hit his 2nd homer in as many days as part of a losing cause.  The Tribe took 3 of 4 as the guests.
